JOB TITLE:Microbiology Lab Manager

EMPLOYER: OmniLytics,Inc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Isolation and characterizing a wide variety of BioSafety Level 2 organisms (bacteria and viruses) using microbial and molecular biology techniques
• Monitoring and managing projects to meet defined goals and deadlines
• Overseeing personnel who utilize established scientific techniques to compile and analyze data and write technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations
• Implementing the overall laboratory policies, procedures, and services
• Ensuring efficient and effective departmental operations, including department quality control and compliance adherence
• Managing and directing the research and development programs to meet organizational needs and to capitalize on potential new products
• Developing and implementing research and development procedures and techniques
• Ensuring proper procedure, and helping devise new development techniques

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree in Microbiology or related science field
• Must have 4-6 years of professional lab experience (preferably in industry rather than academia)
• Management experience not required, but preferred
• Must be very "hands-on" as this position will involve lab work as well as team and project management
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
• Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude and have the ability to multi-task effectively and adapt quickly to rapidly developing opportunities
• Must possess strong interpersonal, report writing, and oral communication skills
• Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and multi-project environment
• Leads and directs the work of others
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
